Valéria Bumiller-Bini Hoch studied Biological Science at the Federal University of Paraná where she obtained her Bachelor’s and her Master’s degree in Genetics. Her research is about pemphigus. She focused on genes responsible for the complement immunological cascade for her master thesis, and on genes associated with epigenetic effects and with cell death routes in her current PhD, at Federal University of Paraná. She recently received a sandwich DAAD scholarship and worked on the model of human skin organ culture in the LIED in the working group of Prof. Dr. med. vet. Jennifer Hundt.
She currently co-supervises two undergraduate students, Anna Pumpe and Emilie Lüders, for their Bachelor thesis.
