Enno Schmidt obtained his medical degree at the University of Würzburg (Germany). He did his PhD in the Department of Biotechnology before doing residency at the Department of Dermatology at the University of Würzburg. After board exams in dermatology (in 2005) and allergology (in 2007) and his dissertation (in 2006), in 2008 he moved to the Department of Dermatology at the University of Lübeck (Germany) as clinical consultant. He became acting head of the Comprehensive Center for Inflammation Medicine (2010-2013) and in 2014 joined the board of directors at the Lübeck Institute for Experimental Dermatology in 2014 (short CV).

His main research interests are in autoimmune bullous diseases focusing on translational aspects including diagnostics, pre-clinical animal models, and clinical studies.
