Dr. Marieke Höhn studied Molecular Life Science at the University of Lübeck where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in 2012 and her Master’s degree in 2016. In 2017 she started her PhD at the Clinic for Dermatology, Allergy and Venerology and in 2018 she moved to the Comprehensive Centre for Inflammatory Medicine due to a change of supervisor.
She finished her studies under the scientific supervision of Prof. Jennifer Hundt and obtained her Dr. rer. nat. in 2020.

The title of her doctoral thesis: Effects of UV-irradiation and diclofenac on the human epidermal detoxification system of genetically different individuals in skin organ culture model.

Since April 2020 she is coordinating the Lübeck Institute of Experimental Dermatology (LIED) and is responsible for the Lübeck-Sharjah exchange program. Within his dual-degree programm Marieke helps students to get the chance to obtain a doctorate at the University of Lübeck.
