Veronika Hartmann obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Applied Biology from the University of Applied Sciences Rheinbach in 2017. She subsequently pursued her Master’s degree in Infection Biology at the University of Lübeck, joining the Lübeck Institute of Experimental Dermatology (LIED) in 2018 as a student assistant, where she was responsible for cryosectioning. In 2020, she finished Her Master’s thesis focusing on the comparison of immune cell populations across eight different mouse strains.
Since August 2021, she has been a member of the research group led by Prof. Dr. med. vet. Jennifer Hundt, focusing on the human skin organ culture model and the self-organization of injured tissue in pemphigus. She obtained her doctoral degree (Dr. rer. nat.) with a thesis entitled "Unravel principles of pemphigus vulgaris pathogenesis" in October 2025.
Now, she is a postdoctoral researcher and coordinator of the RTG2633 "Defining and Targeting Autoimmune Pre-Disease" at the University of Lübeck, where she contributes to the organization and management of the structured doctoral training program.
